Homeschool Newbie: Trying to Do It All

Homeschool Newbie: Trying to Do It All (and Loving It!) 🎉📚

Well guys… I went into this homeschooling thing telling myself I’d stay super organized. My big plan? Prep 4 weeks of work at a time. Sounds doable, right?

But then my brain (you know, the one that never shuts off 😅) decided, “Hmm, 6 weeks would feel even better… especially since vacation is right after school starts.” That way, I wouldn’t have to stress about school while we were gone.

And here’s the kicker… I didn’t stop at 6 weeks. Nope. I’ve got 8 weeks prepped and ready—and I’m still going strong! At this point, it’s almost a game to see just how many weeks I can get ahead.

Now, let’s be real—there will be changes along this journey (who am I kidding, there will be lots of changes 🤣). But for now, I feel like I’m nailing it… or at least giving it my best shot, which totally counts, right?

Here’s my system (and I have to admit, I shocked myself with this one):
✨ I’ve got a folder for each day of the week with all the work they need tucked inside.
✨ Their binders hold two weeks of work at a time, because some courses don’t let me just pull one lesson at a time.
✨ Each week has four days of schoolwork stapled, color-coded, and ready to roll.
✨ When they finish a day’s lesson, they know exactly what’s next—no guessing, no chaos, no “Mom, what do I do now?” 🎯

Honestly, I had to stop and give myself a little pat on the back (or toot my own horn 🎺) because this system is actually working! I never thought I’d be the “organized homeschool mom,” but here we are—and I’m kinda proud of it.

I have a link below with a video of how I have their binders set up. If you have questions, drop them in the comments—I’d love to help or inspire another homeschool newbie who’s just starting out.

This adventure with my boys is already turning into something special, and I can’t wait to see where it takes us. 💕

Happy Homeschooling, friends! 🏡📖✏️
