Made The Right Choice!
Well friends, I had a parent workshop today at my boys’ hybrid homeschool, and let me just say—I walked away even more confident and excited about this new adventure for them.
I was already feeling good about the decision, but after hearing other parents share their experiences (including some who are former public school teachers!), I’m beyond thankful that we chose this path.
Now, I’ll be the first to say that homeschooling isn’t the right fit for every child—my daughter, for example, thrives in a traditional school setting. But for my boys? We haven’t even officially started, and I already know this is the best decision I could have made for them.
Here’s what I love most so far:
Individualized Learning: My son who struggles with reading and handwriting will be able to work at his own level during those subjects, while still joining his peers in grade-level classes for everything else.
Smaller Class Sizes: The kids aren’t lost in the crowd. They get real attention, real support, and space to grow.
Celebrating Uniqueness: Every child is encouraged to be themselves—quirks, creativity, and all. It’s refreshing to hear families say, “Here, it’s okay to be different.”
Real-Life Skills: Instead of just preparing them for a “sit at a desk 9–5 job,” they’ll learn how to communicate, debate, and even think like entrepreneurs. They’ll see that starting a business or chasing a dream is possible—with hard work.
Passionate Teachers: Many of the teachers are homeschool parents themselves, or former public school educators who wanted something better. They bring genuine excitement and care into the classroom.
Play & Balance: The boys will still get plenty of outdoor time and socialization while learning in a supportive environment.
I can already picture my boys thriving here—growing, learning, and becoming more confident in who they are. I cannot wait to see where this journey takes them!
